Welcome, teachers of the Northeast region of Minnesota! We are excited to offer you an opportunity to begin your journey in implementing the 2022 Minnesota Math State Standards in your classroom. This program is designed to provide you with the support and resources needed to bring these new standards to life, helping to elevate the learning experience for your students.
As part of this initiative, you are invited to participate in a series of short, informative sessions. Here’s what you can expect:
- Training Webinar: Begin by watching a 30-minute live or recorded training session conducted by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and the Minnesota Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM).
- Follow-Up Virtual Meetings: The following week, join a 30-minute Zoom meeting from 3:30 to 4:00 PM with Kristen Kilpo, COMPASS Regional Math Coach, and Stefanie Biebl, COMPASS Regional Math Lead. These meetings are designed to help you:
- Digest the information from the training,
- Ask questions and seek clarifications,
- Set goals for your classroom,
- Learn how other teachers in the region are implementing the new standards.
