Under direction of Aubrie Hoover, the Behavioral and Mental Health Services division at NESC launched a pilot mental health awareness campaign the last week of October 2023. The campaign will engage schools, students, and families in a fun way while sharing resources and helping to end the mental health stigma.
The campaign will also raise money to support wellbeing programming for schools across the northeastern Minnesota region. NESC plans to offer opportunities for local organizations and businesses to participate in this mental health awareness campaign with all proceeds going toward student and staff wellbeing and mental health initiatives for our schools without grant restrictions. A huge shoutout to Adam Johnson, Superintendent at Hill City schools, and Hill City for being good sports when the materials were dropped off in a surprising way.
